Scranton, PA – Third-seeded Marywood University was eliminated by sixth seed Marymount University 13-4 Wednesday in the first round of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Region playoffs. The Saints scored 10 of the game's first 11 goals and will advance to the semifinals to play Albright College in Frostburg, Md.

Scott Slater broke the single season goals record with his 39th of the season, topping Sam Trill's 2013 mark of 38 tallies. Slater posted an unassisted goal with 57 seconds left in the third for the record breaker. 


Slater was one of four Pacers to score a goal. Cody Bachman, Sam Trill and Dylan Swope all registered a goal.

Swope led the Pacers (10-9) with six ground balls. Michael Squillante added to his school record with four ground balls, putting him at 125 for the season. Jarrod Bulger collected three ground balls.

Joe Magargal made a dozen saves in 56 minutes, 29 seconds of action in net. Daghan Hart and Brian White each saw time in goal.

Marymount (9-7) dominated the faceoff x, winning 13 of 19 chances off the work of Vince Lodato. The Saints owned a 38-33 edge in ground balls and outshot Marywood by a 42-40 margin.

Marywood was successful on its penalty kills. Marymount converted just one of six extra man opportunities.

Marymount goalkeeper Derek DiGiovanni was masterful in goal, stopping 17 shots and yielding only four goals in 56 minutes, 8 seconds of work.

Connor Kellogg led the Saints with five points on two goals and three assists. Matt Justice scored three goals and an assist. Lodato finished with seven ground balls.

The loss closes the books on the careers of Riley Dobel, Derek Schmidt, Daniel Freidman and Richie Manuli
