Scranton, PA – Marywood University Director of Athletics and Recreation Dr. Mary Jo Gunning has announced the addition of women's golf as the Pacers' 20th varsity sport sponsored. Current men's golf coach Eric Grundman will assume the role of head women's golf coach effective immediately.

"The addition of the women's golf program will continue to bolster our recruitment efforts of students from Northeastern Pennsylvania and across the region" said Dr. Gunning. "With the quick success of the men's golf program under Coach Grundman's leadership, the addition of women's golf was a natural fit."

The women's golf team will compete as an independent program against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) member institutions that sponsor women's golf, area universities and others in Eastern Pennsylvania and surrounding states. While the CSAC does not sponsor a women's golf championship, the team and individuals in the program will have the opportunity to compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships.
