Scranton, PA - Host Moravian College scored on a corner kick just over 10 minutes into their 2014 season opener against visiting Marywood University, and the Greyhounds out-shot the Pacers 22-6 on the day as they recorded a 3-0 win Friday afternoon in Bethlehem. Marywood's Emily Osborne had a game-high 12 saves in 90 minutes of action as the Pacers fell to 0-1.

Moravian received a few chances in the games' opening minutes but Marywood almost took the lead when Kim Vogan laced a long ball down the left flank creating a would be breakaway. Unfortunately for the Pacers, the ball was misplayed and Moravian managed to escape the danger. Just over 10 minutes in, Moravian was awarded a corner kick and Kirsten Schall's bender hooked in through Osborne's hand.

With just over 10 minutes remaining in the opening stanza, Val Margiottiello found a streaking Taylor Burke down the right side and Burke tapped it in to double the host's lead.

Then, with under 10 minutes remaining, Schall beat two Marywood defenders and Osborne then slotted the ball to a wide-open Margiottiello on top of the six-yard box who put it in the back of an empty net.

Marywood was outshot 22-6 on the day, and Moravian put 15 shots on goal to Marywood's four. Osborne had 12 saves, while Jacqueline Zalis recorded a clean sheet with four stops.  Moravian had nine corners to Marywood's two.

Marywood will take on Muhlenberg College in Allentown Saturday at 4:00 pm. Both live stats and video are available.
