Pacers Rip Manhattanville 4-2 for First Victory

Purchase, NY - Marywood University men's soccer picked up its first victory of the season with a 4-2 victory Saturday over Manhattanville College. The Pacers advance to 1-1-2, while the Valiants drop to 2-3 on the year. 

Daniel Hull scored the first two goals and an assist for a three-point effort for the Pacers. In the fifth minute, Hull collected a pass on the right side from Casey Peckio. Hull shot to the left low panel to beat the keeper. Later in the 37th, Justin Liu crossed upfield to Hull. Hull broke past his defenders and delivered a strike into the net for a 2-0 lead. 

Dylan McMahon scored his first career goal in the 55th minute for a three goal advantage. Hull crossed into the box, and McMahon headed for the Pacers' third tally. 


Jordan Daniel finally put the Valiants on the board in the 63rd minute on a header from a Jeffrey Carreira free kick. 

For the second time this year, Kris Kassel was successful on a penalty kick. Hull was fouled by Eddie Silber, and the Manhattanville keeper was sent off with a red card. Kassel put the Pacers on top 4-1 in the 73rd minute. 

Manhattanville had another player receive a red card in the 85th, and the Pacers played two-up the rest of the way.

Liu finished with a career-high two assists. 

Justin Sunseri made six saves to secure his first win of 2014.
