Scranton, PA - Neumann University's Marisa Antuzzi scored on a breakaway goal 1:01 into the second overtime period to lift the visiting Knights to a 3-2 win over host Marywood University Saturday afternoon in CSAC field hockey action.  Marywood battled back to force overtime with a late goal from Gabrielle Bower.  Marywood fell to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in league play while Neumann moves to 4-5, 2-0 CSAC.

Neumann controlled play much of the first half but could not find the back of the net until there was just 3:51 left in the stanza.  Lindsey Spatola took a feed from Jessica Harrell to put the Knights up 1-0.  Just over 7:30 into the second half, Marywood knotted the game at 1-1 when Leanne McManus one-timed a feed from Molly Westbrook into the back of the net.

In the 57th minute, Neumann went back up top when Jordan Hopkins scored an unassisted goal when she followed a rebound off a shot form Spatola that was saved by Marywood keeper Kayle Huey.

Marywood got the equalizer with just 1:12 left in the game when Gabriella Bower picked up an attempted clearance after a Marywood penalty corner and hit the right side of the cage.

Neumann out-shot Marywood 20-14 for the game and had a 14-10 advantage in shots on goal. Both teams had one defensive save.  Huey made 10 saves for Marywood while Nicole Galvin got her first collegiate win in goal after making seven stops.

Marywood returns to action Wednesday with a non-conference game at Morrisville State in New York.
