Scranton, PA - Visiting Kean University scored a late first half goal to break open a tight game and the Cougars went on for a 5-1 win over host Marywood University Wednesday evening in Scranton.  Kean (2-0) got two goals from Marissa Robinson in the win while Marywood (1-1) got their lone tally from freshman Tori Jo Kakusian on a penalty stroke.

Kean got on the board just under four minutes into the non-conference match when Chelsea Mann scored off a deflection.  Just under eight minutes later, the Cougars doubled their lead when Bridgette Bottinelli redirected a cross from Mann into the back of the net.

Marywood would answer in the 25th minute when Kakusian scored her first collegiate goal on a penalty stroke.  It seemed the score would remain 2-1 until the halftime break but Kean got a huge unassited goal from Robinson when she lifted the ball over Marywood's Kayle Huey with just :36 ticks left on the clock in the opening half.

That 3-1 lead put Marywood in the hole, and the Cougars added second half tallies from Raykena Brown and Robinson to secure their second win of the season.  Huey finished the game with 10 saves.

Marywood returns to action Saturday when they visit crosstown rival the University of Scranton at 4:00 pm.
