Scranton, PA - Five players scored in double figures and host Marywood University held off a mid second half rally from visiting Neumann University as the Pacers picked up a key Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball win by downing the Knights 77-69.  Shane Kellaher led the Pacers in scoring with 14 points as the hosts continued their best start in program history and improved to 8-4 overall and 3-2 in league play.  James Butler had a game-high 20 for Neumann, who fell to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the CSAC with the loss.

Down 17-16 after 8:54 of play, Marywood used a 8-0 run spanning 1:39 to take the lead for good.  The Pacers enjoyed a eight point halftime lead, 38-30.  Despite allowing Neumann to outscore themselves 22-12 in the paint in the opening half, Marywood did not allow a single three (0-for-7) from the Knights while the Pacers hit six of 13 from long range.

The Pacers would go up by as many as 12 over the first eight minutes of the second half, but with Marywood up 53-41, Neumann found some energy and got back to within one (53-52) on a layup from Lamon Church with 8:12 to play.

From there, a three pointer from Alex Barr followed by a bucket from Shane Letthand and another three from Kellaher extended Marywood's lead back to 61-52. Neumann would get back to within seven with 5:01 left but the Pacers took control again to put the game away.

Besides Kellaher's team-high 14, four other players reached double digits for the Pacers.  Jeremy Ringland had 12 after a 4-for-4 effort from three point land while Barr also added 12.  Letthand finished with 11 while Connor Callejas, who was eight of 10 from the charity stripe, had 10.

Marywood returns to action Monday with a CSAC tilt and Gwynedd Mercy University.
