Scranton, PA - Marywood University's epic comeback bid against perennial CSAC power Cabrini College fell just short as the Pacers suffered an 86-82 defeat at the hands of the Cavaliers.  Marywood trailed by 25 (67-42) with 10:45 to go but came all the way back to take a 80-79 lead with 3:21 to play before the Cavaliers held on to win the close game. Shane Kellaher registered a career high 31 points in his sixth straight double digit performance for Marywood.

Marywood was up 10-2 after three minutes of play but the Cavaliers used a 10-0 run over the next three minutes to take a 12-10 lead.  The Pacers would then hit a three followed by a Cabrini three that gave the visitors a 15-13 lead, a lead it looked like the Cavaliers would never relinquish.

Cabrini exploded on a 17-4 run to break the game open and went into the half with what seemed to be a commanding 50-30 lead.

Cabrini had seven players dressed for the contest, and despite all seven registering points, after a while foul trouble and fatigue plagued the visitors.

The Cavaliers controlled the first 10 minutes of the second half, keeping at the least a 16 point edge and at the most a 25 point lead.

But with 10:45 to go, Marywood used a pair of 8-0 runs to get back to within nine, 71-62.

With the crowd re-energized and momentum switching, a 10-2 run got the Pacers to within one, down 73-72 with 5:56 to go.  Cabrini extended their lead back to five mainly from the free throw line, where at one point they were 24-of-24 on the night, but the Pacers answered right a back and with 3:21 to go took a 80-79 lead on a traditional three point play from Shane Letthand.

Cabrini answered with a jumper from All-American Aaron Walton-Moss, and Marywood reclaimed a 82-81 lead on a jumper from Cameron Dean with 2:20 to go.

Cabrini then took the lead for good on a layup from Jair Green with 1:27 to play and held off the Pacers despite missing their final three free throws.  The Cavaliers finished the game 24 of 27 from the charity stripe, hitting their first 24 of the contest.

Marywood's epic comeback was led by Kellaher, who's career high and game high 31 came on 10 of 19 shooting from the floor and a 5 of 9 mark from long range.  James Curley hit three big three's down the stretch to help Marywood climb back into the game.  Dean finished with a team high 10 rebounds and eight points, while Alex Barr and 15 points and Curley added 11.

Walton-Moss led the Cavs with a triple double, registering a team-high 25 points and game highs with 13 rebounds and 10 assists.

Marywood will look to respond in win column Saturday when they travel to Centenary.
