Scranton, PA - Marywood University scored the first 21 points of the game to down Cairn University 62-29 Wednesday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action. The Pacers (11-5, 6-2 CSAC) sit in fourth place in the CSAC standings -- a half game behind Gwynedd Mercy University. Cairn falls to 2-12 overall and 0-8 in conference play.

For the first time since falling to then-No. 3 Amherst College on Dec. 29, 2013 in Las Vegas, no Marywood player reached double figures. Kimmy Green and Lisa Steakin paced Marywood with a team-high eight points. Catie Nealon and Danielle Terranella each posted seven points and six rebounds. Nealon had a career-best six assists.

Led by Meghan Weeks' eight boards, Marywood out-rebounded the Highlanders 51-30. Weeks also contributed with three blocks. Fresh off her CSAC Honor Roll award, Nora Joyce had a season-high four steals.

Marywood shot 37 percent from the field and held Cairn to 25 percent shooting. The Pacers outscored the Highlanders 26-6 in the paint.

Amie Eppolito was lights out for the Highlanders with 21 of the team's 29 points. Amy Faust led the game with nine rebounds.

Marywood hosts second-place Immaculata University Saturday at 1:00 pm in a key conference battle. The Athletics and Recreation Department will recognize the 2014 CSAC championship-winning softball team at halftime.
