Immaculata, PA - Host Immaculata University handed Marywood University their first CSAC loss of the season and in the process make Saturday's final regular season CSAC matches important for all four seeds as the Mighty Macs defeated the Pacers 7-2 Friday.  Both squads are now 10-3 overall with Marywood standing at 8-1 in the conference and Immaculata improving to 7-2 in league play.

The loss means that Marywood's playoff fate and seeding will be determined Saturday as the Pacers travel to take on league leader Gwynedd Mercy (9-0 CSAC).  With a win, Marywood would earn the conference's top seed, while a loss could force Marywood into the #2, #3 or #4 seed depending on Immaculata's and Cabrini's (7-2) result on Saturday.  All four teams have already clinched berths into the post-season.

The host Mighty Macs got off on the right foot with three wins in doubles play.  In the top doubles flight, Kelly Gross and Lauren Degnan handed Avery McCall and Devon Underwood a 8-2 setback.  Jenna Fratterelli and Caitlin Savage were 8-4 winners at #3 doubles over Nicole Sinclair and Devin Zombek, while Marywood's Abygail Doud and Melanie Kobela were in the tightest doubles match of the afternoon at #2 doubles but fell to Anna Kambouroglos and Kara Trowbridge, 8-6.

In singles play, Gross cruised past Shannon Spencer 6-1, 6-1 at six singles before Sinclair earned Marywood's first point with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Fratterelli at #5 singles.  Marywood's Devon Underwood got a point to make it 4-2 in favor of Immaculata after her 6-3, 6-4 win at #3 singles over Trowbridge.

Immaculata's Nicole Burley won a tight first set over Doud 7-5 at #2 singles before winning the second set 6-1 to clinch the win for the Mighty Macs.

In a pair of three set matches, the Mighty Macs came out on top at #1 and #4 singles as Degnan defeated McCall 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the top singles flight while Kambouroglos hled off Kobela 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 at #4 four singles.

Marywood takes on Gwynedd Mercy in Gwynedd Valley at 1:00 pm.
