Scranton, PA – Marywood University moved into playoff contention with a three-set victory over Centenary College Thursday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's volleyball action. The Pacers downed the Cyclones by scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-12.

Maddie Lavery led the Pacers with nine kills. Meghan Weeks supplied seven kills and three total blocks for a .429 attack percentage.

Playing just one set, Mallorie Deschaine recorded three aces and three kills.

Shayna Finn provided the Pacers with an outstanding defensive effort with 14 digs. Her partner-in-crime Danielle DeIulio tallied 25 assists with five kills.

Amanda Khozouri played libero in set three for eight digs. Mallory Mokay and Stacy Griffing had seven and six digs, respectively.

Marywood shot .312 for the game, while Centenary went .056 from the field. Marywood's service game propelled them with 11 to the Cyclones' three.

The Pacers had full control of the first set until a Zoey Woody kill brought the score to 15-12. From there, Marywood went on a 7-1 run, capped by an Amanda Khozouri kill to go ahead by six.

The second set was dicey for the Pacers, finding themselves trailing by as many as five at 13-8. Marywood won six of the next seven points, and finally even the score at 16-16. After trading points to make it 17 apiece, Khozouri led an eight-point run that featured two Weeks blocks and two Lavery kills to bring it to game point. DeIulio finished the Cyclones off with misdirection for a kill.

Despite inserting Deschaine into the lineup for set three, things did not go smoothly for the Pacers, who found themselves tied at 8-8 earlier. Marywood went on a 14-3 run to put the game out of reach. Deschaine closed it out with two straight aces. Marywood shot .455 in the third set.

The Pacers (6-15, 5-3 CSAC) leapfrog Gwynedd Mercy for sixth place in the CSAC standings. Marywood hosts the Griffins Saturday at 1:00 pm for a key conference matchup. Saturday will mark the team's final regular season home game and the Senior Game for Khozouri, Griffing and Lavery.
