Clarks Summit, PA – Marywood University clinched the No. 2 spot in the Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer playoffs with a 4-2 victory Tuesday over Summit University of Pennsylvania. Also punching its ticket to the playoffs in the same night, Marywood earns an all-important first round bye.

The Pacers broke open a 1-1 tie through the game's first 61 minutes with three unanswered goals within an 11-minute time span. Marywood gains a winning record (7-6-3, 6-1-1 CSAC) for the first time this season, while Summit slips to 2-15 overall and 0-8 in conference play despite several well-contested matches.

Senior defender Zach Oster scored the go-ahead goal for the second consecutive game. Oster headed a Daniel Hull corner kick into the head in the 62nd minute to end the 1-1 stalemate.

Daniel Hull collected his fourth game-winner of the season, finishing with a goal and an assist for three points. He scored in five of the past six games. Hull has six goals and three assists in that time frame.

Marywood won its season-best third game in a row.

Justin Liu and Danny Lopez both scored their first goals of the year. Cody Gangware finished with his second assist and fourth point of the year.

Liu kicked things off with the game's first goal off a Gangware pass in the 22nd minute. Ten minutes later, Summit leveled the score when Ian Self sent a through ball for a left-footed shot.

Oster's goal opened the flood gates for the Pacers' offense. Not even three minutes after assisting the go-ahead score, Hull dribbled around the Defenders' defenders to notch his 11th of the year in the 65th minute.

Lopez capped the Pacers' scoring in the 73rd on an unassisted shot. It was his first goal scored since a game-winning screamer against Immaculata on Sept. 26, 2012.

Summit's Wesley Pincince posted a goal with 10 seconds remaining when he dribbled in for a score.

Patrick Brogan earned his first victory of the year and second of his career with a pair of saves. Ben Campbell stopped six for Summit.

Marywood outshot Summit 27-8 and 10-4 on target. The Pacers blanked the Defenders 13-0 in corner kicks.

The Pacers received help from Gwynedd Mercy's 2-1 upset win over Centenary to secure their No. 2 seed in the playoffs.

The Pacers close out their regular season at Centenary College Saturday. Marywood will host a CSAC semifinal game on Thursday, Nov. 5.
