Scranton, PA  - Alex Swallow's goal with 1:37 left in regulation broke a 1-1 deadlock and lifted visiting Cabrini College to a 2-1 win over host Marywood University Saturday afternoon in the CSAC opener for both schools.  Both teams now stand at 4-5 overall.

Playing in wet, windy and cold conditions, the game seemed destined for overtime until Swallow's heroics.

Cabrini opened the scoring just 1:43 into Saturday's contest as Tiffany Phillips tipped a shot in from the top of the circle off a helper from Sara DeVita.

But Marywood answered less than five minutes later, as Tori Jo Kakusian scored on a blast from the top of the arc.

The score would remain 1-1 into halftime and well beyond, as both teams registered nine first half shots with the Cavaliers having five penalty corners to Marywood's four.

Cabrini generated most of the offense in the second half, out-shooting the hosts 10-3 in the frame.  But Nicole Merrill kept the Pacers in the game with five second half saves.

Swallow finally scored the game-winner when she one-timed a shot from six yards out after a flicked pass.

Merrill finished with a game-high eight saves while Kirsten Webb had one defensive save.  Taylor Bookman made four stops to get the win for Cabrini.

Marywood will host Immaculata Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
