Scranton, PA - Marywood University jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and never looked back as the Pacers beat visiting Immaculata University 5-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference field hockey action Tuesday afternoon in Scranton. Marywood is now back to .500 on the year, improving to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in league play.

The Pacers received goals from four different players, including two from Tori Jo Kakusian, and one from Leanne McManus. Both are tied for the team lead with 10 goals apiece.  

McManus got the Pacers on the board at the 17:00 mark when she tomahawked a wide shot into the net. Amelia Waibel was credited with the assist, her first helper of the season.

Kakusian then doubled the Marywood lead 3:40 later when she scored off a penalty corner. Immaculata keeper Sarah Pasternak made two stops originally but could not prevent Kakusian's blast from the top off the box.  

The sophomore defender then added a tally at the 30:00 mark, her 10th of the season, when she put home a penalty corner sent in by Gabbie Bower.

Bower would then get in the scoring column herself as she netted the firsf two Marywood second half goals. Bower's tally, her fourth of the year, came after she backhanded a crossing pass from Julie Kowalski.

Cassie Stockwell closed the scoring in the 54th minute of play, redirecting McManus' shot for the Pacers' fifth goal of the day. McManus was credited with the assist. McManus now stands eight shy of the 100 Point Club. 

Nicole Merrill made one stop in net and Kakusian added a defensive save, her team-best sixth of the season, to keep the clean sheet for Marywood. Pasternak finished with a game-high 17 stops.  

Marywood out-shot the Mighty Macs, 34-6 (22-2 on goal), on the day and held a 11-3 advantage in penalty corners.

Marywood will look to move above .500 when it hosts Neumann University Saturday at 4:00 pm.
