Pacers Move to 2-0 with 82-61 win

Lehman, PA - For the second straight game Connor Callejas led four Marywood players in double figures as the Pacers improved to 2-0 with a 82-61 win over host Penn State Wilkes-Barre Tuesday night in Lehman.  Callehas had a team-high 23 points in the win while Jameel Waller had a game-high 24 for the Lions (0-3) in the loss.

Up 21-20 with just under eight minutes to go in the first half, Marywood went on a 15-4 run to break the game open and eventually went into the locker room with a 11 point, 40-29 lead.  

Marywood stretched their lead to as many as 23 on a pair of Callejas freebies in the second half and after the opening four minutes of the second stanza never let the hosts back to within 10.

Tip Swartz also reached double digits for the second straight game with a 14 point night as did Shane Letthand who contributed 11.  Kendall Farrell reached double digits for the first time this season with 12 points on four of five shooting from the floor, including a perfect four-for-four effort from long range.  Callejas' 23 points came on 7 of 10 shooting from the floor, five of seven from three point range and four of six from the charity stripe.

For the game, Marywood hit 18 three's (56.3%) while limiting the Lions to 33% shooting from long range (7 of 21). Marywood also out-rebounded the hosts 41-33, including a 32-24 edge on the defensive boards.  

The Pacers will look to remain perfect on the year Saturday when they travel to PSU Hazleton for a non-conference tilt beginning at 1:00 pm.
