Radnor, PA – Second-seeded Cabrini College eliminated No. 3 Marywood University from the Colonial States Athletic Conference field hockey playoffs with a 2-0 shutout Wednesday in the semifinals. The Cavaliers advance to face the winner of the Keystone-Gwynedd Mercy title, while the Pacers (9-8) will wait for the ECAC brackets to be released next week.

After a scoreless first half, Cabrini's Jackie Neary hit the back of the cage five minutes into the second frame for her second of the year.

Marywood had just one chance in the second half to even the score. In the 56th minute, sophomore defender Tori Jo Kakusian ripped a shot off a Gabbie Bower penalty corner that was kick-saved by Cavalier keeper Taylor Bookman.

Cabrini added an insurance goal in the waning minutes. In the 68th, Jen Webb finally scored after controlling possession for most of the contest.

Nicole Merrill finished with eight saves in goal for the Pacers. Bookman stopped all three of the Pacers' shots on target.

Cabrini outshot the Pacers by a 21-3 margin. The Cavaliers had a 12-3 advantage in penalty corners.

Kakusian made her 13th defensive save of the season. Her season total of penalty corners is more than any other Marywood player has ever had for her entire career. The previous best entering this year was six by Morgan Walsh '13 in 2012.
