Aston, PA – Marywood University never trailed after the first four minutes to notch a key 62-48 victory on the road over Neumann University Saturday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action. With the victory, Marywood sits in fourth place in the CSAC standings (14-8, 9-4 CSAC) with three away games remaining on its schedule.

Less than a week since coming back to the court, Lindsey Schroth was lights out with a season-best 17 points on 8 of 12 shooting effort.

Schroth was one of four players in double figures. Maddie Lavery secured a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Alexa Gerchman tallied 12 points. Nora Joyce hit all six free throws as part of a 10-point, four-steal effort.

Maggie Presnal was two points shy of a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Jessica Schlesman was the only Knight in double figures with 17 points. JoHanna Metzger patrolled the paint with a game-high 12 rebounds.

Marywood's stingy defense held the Knights to just 31.1 percent from the field. Neumann struggled from long range, hitting just 2 of 15 shots for 13.3 percent. The Knights saved face with an 88.9 percent mark from the free throw line.

The Pacers, on the other hand, made 44.6 percent of their shots. Neumann slightly won the rebounding advantage by a 41-37 margin.

Marywood only trailed by two points before a 14-3 run over a seven-minute span obliterated the Knights. Schroth spearheaded the effort with all but four of the team's points during the run.

The Knights closed the gap with an eight-point run over the final 2:23. A Sarah Roberts bucket with 12 seconds left sent the game to the locker room trailing 27-26. Marywood held the Knights at a safe distance with Neumann not coming within a possession over the final 11 minutes.

Marywood has three more away games to finish off its regular season with a playoff berth on the line. The Pacers travel to Centenary College (Monday), Notre Dame of Maryland University (Wednesday), and Gwynedd Mercy University (Friday).
