Fort Pierce, FL – Marywood University improved to 3-1 on the year with a pair of wins over Geneva College Tuesday afternoon in Fort Pierce, Florida.  The Pacers scored five runs in the sixth in the opener to earn a 6-1 win and followed with a 3-2 win in eight innings in the nightcap.

Bryan Noonan got the win in the opener after allowing one run over seven innings while striking out six and allowing just five hits.  Erik Pulkkinen and Alan Nieto led the Pacers offensively, combining for four hits and four RBIs in the win. 

After RBI single from Vince Rebar scored Nieto in the third inning to give Marywood a 1-0 lead.  Donnie Tong would tie the game with an RBI single in the sixth for Geneva, but Marywood used two doubles in the sixth to break the game open with a five-run inning. 

In the nightcap, Daniel Hull earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs in his complete-game effort.  Hull fanned four and allowed seven hits in eight innings of work. 

The Pacers grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the first on a Thomas Richards RBI double that scored Rebar.  Richards would then score on an error later in the inning. Geneva got single runs across the plate in the second and fifth innings to tie the game at 2-2. 

Marywood would tally the winning run in the eighth on an error.

The Pacers are off Wednesday and return to the diamond Thursday when they take on Westminster College (Pa.) in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm.
