Fort Pierce, FL - Marywood University matched a program best 6-2 record while on spring break in Florida as the Pacers completed their trip South with a doubleheader sweep of Bethany College (W.V). Friday afternoon in Fort Piercer, Florida. The Pacers got strong outings from Joseph DiLoreto and Justin Haddix in 3-0 and 8-1 wins. Marywood also went 6-2 to start the season in 2011.

DiLoreto allowed just three hits and struck out eight in his complete-game win. In the seventh with runners on first and second, he snagged a line-drive and doubled up the runner at second to end the game.

Erik Pulkkinen was 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored. His RBI came on a single in the third. Vince Rebar was 1-for-3 with an RBI single in the fifth. Thomas Richards and Alan Nieto were also both 1-for-3 with Nieto picking up a stolen base.

In the nightcap, Haddix got his second complete-game win of the week after just 87 pitches. Haddix struck out 10 and allowed five hits as the Pacers pounded out 17 hits of their own en route to the 8-1 win.

Pulkkinen was 3-for-4 with an RBI while Rebar went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer in the first. Richards was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in game two while Tommy Smith and Mark Sherlock both had two hits.

The Pacers are scheduled to take on King's College March 19 in Wilkes-Barre Township, weather depending.
