Scranton, PA - Marywood University won its second straight game with a 9-5 victory over Morrisville State Saturday in non-conference men's lacrosse. The Pacers (3-3) broke open a tie with four consecutive goals over a 17-minute span.

Dylan Swope led the Pacers with a team-high five points on two goals and three assists. His final assist of the game was the 80th of his career, an all-time school record and five shy of the conference's top ten list.

Scott Slater scored three goals for a hat trick. Ryan Nowell led the team with seven ground balls. Swope and Michael Squillante both racked five ground balls. Joe O'Connell caused three turnovers and grabbed five ground balls.

Joe Magargal secured his third win of the season with six saves.

Two goals early in the first period put the Pacers ahead. Slater put the Pacers on top at the 9:37 mark of the game, and Cody Bachman took a Stephen Deiner feed to make it a two-goal lead on the early onset.

Morrisville State evened the game with a pair of goals in a one-minute span. Tom Rosaschi put the Mustangs on the scoreboard with a tally in the final six seconds of the first. John Sherlock squared it at two with an unassisted goal 55 seconds into the second. Marywood's Sam Trill gave the Pacers an advantage before halftime.

A power failure shut down the scoreboard in the third, but Marywood added goals to the score at a steadily rate. Slater marveled the crowd when he one-timed a Swope pass from behind his neck and into the goal to take a 4-2 advantage with 12:16 in the third. After Swope and Slater teamed for another goal, Brian Madine added his first of the season on a pass from Austin Maylor, giving the Pacers a 6-2 advantage at the 7:20 mark.

More than 17 minutes of scoreless play yielded a man-up goal from Brendan Shannon to put the Mustangs within three. Just eight seconds afterwards, Squillante won a faceoff and dished it downfield to Swope for a goal.

Three goals were scored in the final two minutes. Travis Pappas found the net from a Ryan Fulton pass for both players' first career points.

Marywood and Morrisville split faceoffs nine apiece. Marywood outshot an opponent for the first time this season, topping the Mustangs by a 35-22 margin. The Pacers won the ground ball game, 42-20.

The Pacers take their annual trip to Long Island Friday to face Oneonta State in a neutral site game in East Garden City, N.Y.
