Women's Lacrosse Extends Winning Streak to Four

Scranton, PA - Marywood University went above .500 for the first time this season and extended its winning streak to four games with a 18-6 victory over Cedar Crest College Wednesday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action. The Pacers remain undefeated through three conference games.

Sam Bussinelli scored a season-best six points on two goals and four assists. Caitlin Watson totaled four points for the second straight game on three goals and an assist.

Natalie Burke banked four points with two goals and two assists. Dana Grossjung registered two goals, three points, four ground balls and four draw controls. Erin Healy came off the bench to score a pair.

Jennifer Newins scored her first goal of the season and just the second of her career. Stephanie Hughes tabbed a team-best five draw controls. Michelle Thompson caused three turnovers.

Lauren Smith made a save to notch her fourth victory of the season. Teressa Izzo made four saves in 30 minutes of reserve work.

Katrina Kelly, Emily Osborne and Hughes all had two points on a goal and an assist.

Marywood scored the first six goals of the game in less than six minutes. Cedar Crest (0-3, 0-2 CSAC) stayed in contention over the next 15 minutes to keep the deficit at 11-4. The Pacers rattled off six straight goals over the following 15 minutes to initiate a running clock with a 17-4 lead. Osborne dished a feed to Newins for the final goal of the game with 6:45 left.

The Pacers travel to Keystone College Saturday at 1:00 pm.
