LaPlume, PA - Marywood University continued their hot start to the 2015 season as the Pacers completed a historic sweep of Keystone College Monday afternoon.  The Pacers (9-2, 2-0 CSAC) became the first CSAC team to sweep Keystone College (9-6, 0-2 CSAC) in a doubleheader since the Giants joined the conference in 2009.  Marywood took the opener 15-8 and rallied for a 7-6 win in the nightcap.

Vince Rebar was 4-for-4 with a double, four RBI and three runs scored in the opener.  Marywood trailed 3-0 after one inning of play, but used a seven-run third inning claim their first lead of the day.  Keystone would make it 7-6 with a two-run fourth, but the Pacers responded with four runs in the top of the fifth to extend their lead to 11-6.

Marywood used another four-run inning, this time in the top of the 7th, to put the game out of reach.  Bryan Noonan got the win on the mound to improve to 2-1 on the year.  Noonan allowed seven runs on 12 hits but the Marywood offense had his back in the opener, providing him with plenty of run support.  Joseph DiLoreto picked up the save, striking out two over 1.1 innings of work.

Nic Arrue, Daniel Hull and Tommy Smith each had two hits for Marywood while Mark Sherlock had three RBI on one hit and Alan Nieto and Erik Pulkkinen each had to RBI.

In what turned out to be a historic nightcap win, Marywood rallied with a six-run seventh to come back from a 5-1 deficit, then held off the Giants for the 7-6 win.  It was the first time Keystone got swept in a CSAC doubleheader since joining the conference in the summer of 2008 (spring 2009 was the baseball team's first season in the CSAC).

Keystone had the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the seventh but could not plate the winning or tying runs.

Robert Flynn earned the win for the Pacers after getting one out in the bottom of the sixth.  Hull earned the save after striking out one in the final inning.  Starter Justin Perez allowed four earned runs in 5.2 innings, striking out three and walking two.

Pulkinnen, Hull, Smith and Mark Sherlock were all 2-for-4 for the Pacers.  Sherlock led Marywood with a pair of RBI.

In the top of the seventh, after a strikeout opened the inning, the Pacers reached base on a throwing error.  Hull would single to center and advance the runners, and Joseph Meehan would later score on a error.  Thomas Richards would get an RBI single to score Pulkinnen, and Staback would single in an other run.  After an infield fly caused the second out of the inning, Sherlock hit a two-run single to right.  Staback would complete the Pacers' comeback by scoring on a wild pitch.

The Pacers return to action tomorrow when they travel to Diamond Nation in Flemington, New Jersey to take on host Centenary College in another CSAC twinbill. Game one starts at 1:00 pm.
