Flemington, NJ - Visiting Marywood University had a six-game win streak snapped by host Centenary University but the Pacers bounced back to earn a 8-2 win in the nightcap and reach 10 wins early in the season. Marywood (10-3 overall) dropped the first game 10-6 but moved to 3-1 in CSAC play as they beat the Cyclones in game two. The Cyclones now stand at 10-4 (1-2 CSAC) after the split.

Centenary got two homers from Ryan Caparoni in the opener as they handed the Pacers their first loss in seven games. Marywood trailed 10-0 before attempting a comeback with a six-run seventh, but the rally ended with a game-ending groundout before Marywood could come all the way back.

Thomas Richards was the lone Pacer to have multiple hits in the opener, while Erik Pulkkinen and Alan Nieto each hit doubles. Tommy Smith had two RBI. Daniel Hull suffered the loss after allowing seven runs in three innings. Pulkkinen pitched the final three innings, allowing three runs.

In the nightcap, Nic Arrue had three RBI and Vince Rebar was 2-for-4 with two RBI as Marywood won, 8-2. Matt Staback went 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored. Marywood built a 7-0 lead through five innings of play before Centenary got on the board. A four-run fifth provided starter Joseph DiLoreto with plenty of cushion.

DiLoreto moved to 2-1 on the year with a complete-game, nine strikeout performance.

Marywood is slated to return to the diamond Thursday when they host Neumann University at 1:00 pm in a twinbill.
