Clermont, FL - Marywood University fell to 0-2 on the year as the Pacers dropped a 10-3 decision to New England College Monday afternoon in Clermont, Florida.  The Pacers awoke offensively and pounded out numerous hits on the day but were unable to bring those runners home on multiple occassions in the loss.  The Patriots improved to 2-2 with the win.

Emily Perruso fell to 0-2 on the year after pitching all seven innings.  Perruso took the loss in the Pacers' season opening 2-1 loss to Fitchburg State in nine innings earlier in the day after coming on in relief.  Against the Patriots, Perruso allowed 10 runs on seven hits while walking five.

Brooke Labs continued her hot start at the plate by going 2-for-2 with a RBI and run scored.  Stephanie Bagniewski bounced back from an 0-4 opening game by going 3-for-4 against New England College.  Chelsea Epler was 1-for-4 with an RBI while Kathleen Rossi and Mackie Goodwin were both 2-for-4. Both of Goodwin's hits were doubles.

The Patriots jumped out to a 6-2 after two innings of play.  NEC scored three in the first and Marywood responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning on RBI singles from Labs and Epler, but the Patriots added three more in the second to pull away.  A four run sixth from New England College would put the game out of reach.

Marywood will take on the Patriots again tomorrow at 1:00 pm and follow that game with a 3:00 pm tilt against Emerson College.
