Ambler, PA - Heading into singles play down 2-1, host Gwynedd Mercy University swept all six singles matches to hand Marywood University's men's tennis team their first CSAC loss of the year with a 7-2 win over the Pacers Friday night at the Upper Darby Sports Center in Ambler.  Marywood fell to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in league play while the Griffins remain unbeaten in CSAC action with a 4-0 record (5-1 overall).

Marywood had the Griffins reeling early, as the Pacers' #1 and #3 doubles teams each picked up huge 8-4 wins.  At #1, Daniel Tintle and Mark Van Nort beat Peter Brzezinski and Alexander Channick, while at #3 Brendan Brown and Gianni Monteleone teamed up to beat Kylil Curry and Nick Czibick.  At #2 doubles. Marywood's Gavin Coyne adn Steven Garubba fell 8-3 to GMU's Joshua Cason and Blaine Grisak.

Playing one set of supertiebreakers in singles play for all six matches due to court availability at the indoor complex, Gwynedd quickly erased their deficit and won all six singles matches to earn the 7-2 win and remain unbeaten in conference play.

At #1, Brzezinski bested Van Nort, 8-1.  Tintle fell to Channick 8-5 at #2, while Curry handled Garubba at #3, 8-6.  At #5, Carson beat Monteleone, 8-2.

The two tighter matches of singles play occurred in the #4 and #6 flights. Grisack beat Coyne 9-8 (7-4) at #4 and Czibik beat Zack Haney 8-7 (7-5) at #6.
