Gwynedd Valley, PA - For the first time in the 21 year history of the Marywood University baseball program, the Pacers have swept Gwynedd Mercy University in a three game series. After taking a twinbill yesterday in Scranton by scores of 9-4 and 3-2,Marywood closed out their historic sweep of the Griffins with a 8-4 win in Gwynedd Valley Sunday. Using big innings to pick up wins lately, Sunday proved to be no different for the Pacers. Tied 1-1 after one inning, Marywood used a five-run fourth to take a lead they would never relinquish.

With the bases loaded, Nic Arrue singled in a run. After scoring a run on an error, Erik Pulkkinen picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice and Daniel Hull would single in the final run of the inning, giving the Pacers a 5-1 lead.

Russell Baldino got the win after striking out three over six innings of work and allowing two earned runs on seven hits. Bryan Noonan earned the save, striking out three over the final three innings.

Hull finished the game 3-for-4 with a RBI and run scored. Tommy Smith was 3-for-5 with a double, while Vince Rebar, Thomas Richards and Matt Staback all had two hits for the Pacers.

Marywood is scheduled to complete their game with Neumann University Monday at 4:30pm. That game was suspended due to rain days ago with the Pacers leading the Knights 6-4 entering the top of the 5th inning.
