Streaking Pacers Down Keystone to Stay Unblemished in CSAC

Scranton, PA - Marywood University won its program-record eighth consecutive game with a 22-3 victory Wednesday over Keystone College in the two teams' first-ever Colonial States Athletics Conference men's lacrosse meeting. The Pacers broke out a one-point game with 15 straight goals lasting over a 40 minute time frame. 

Marywood improves to 9-3 overall and 5-0 in the CSAC standings heading into a pivotal meeting between the conference's remaining undefeated teams Saturdy at No. 16 Cabrini College. Keystone falls to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in its inaugural CSAC campaign. 

Dylan Swope scored a season-high eight points with four goals and four assists. He surpasses William Roerden '11 for third place on the program's record books with 158 career points. Swope also became the first Marywood player to reach 100 assists. 

Sam Trill tied Nick Parks '11 for the school career points record with his 165th as part of a two-goal performance. 

Ranked first nationally in save percentage, Joe Magargal made five saves and allowed two goals in 30 minutes for his eighth victory of the year. 

Joining Swope with four goals were Scott Slater and Cody Bachman. Slater added an assist for five points. 

Defensively, Taylor Goldson and Mike Dimino each racked up seven ground balls. Joe O'Connell caused a season-high four turnovers. Riley Litman won 11 of 14 faceoff opportunities (84.6 percent) and collected five ground balls.

Scoring two goals for the Pacers were Matt Casto and Brian Madine. Rob Maini added a goal and assist for two points. 

Marywood outscoring the Giants by a 62-14 margin. The Pacers won the ground ball game 46-24 and failed on just one clear attempt. The Pacers were victorious in 20 of 28 faceoff chances. 

After Scott Slater scored the game's first 53 seconds into the game, Keystone startled the Pacers with a game-tying goal at the 11:44 mark from Caleb Strope. Trill regained the lead for the green-and-gold on a Taylor Goldson pass at the 8:29 mark. Marywood tacked on another from Swope 65 seconds later to take a 3-1 lead. Keystone's Michael Bradley faked out the goalkeeper from a backdoor pass from Matt Ebanez that halved the Giants' deficit to just one. 

Bachman's first goal of the game at 2:53 provided the fuel for the Pacers' 15-goal stretch. Slater and Swope reconnected with three seconds left in the period to put the Pacers ahead 5-2. 

Edith Robb Dixon Field hosts a Marywood-Cabrini lacrosse doubleheader on Saturday. Following the women's game at noon, the Pacers and Cavaliers shake it out for the top spot in the CSAC tournament at 3:00 pm. Live stats and video will be available at marywoodpacers.com.
