Cabrini Hands Pacers Pair of Setbacks

Radnor, PA - Host Cabrini College had their bats awake in pair of wins over visiting Marywood University Friday afternoon in CSAC softball action. The conference doubleheader sweep of the Pacers was the first against Marywood (11-12, 10-4 CSAC) since April 26, 2013, which also came at the hands of the Cavaliers.  Cabrini won game one 11-3 Friday and game two 9-0.  

Cabrini (17-7, 13-3 CSAC) got a two homers from Steph Diegel in the opener and another from Amber Dietrich.  Diegel finished the opener with six RBI while Dietrich also had a double and wound up going 3-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored in the 11-3 win.

Mariah Runco homered for the Pacers while Stephanie Bagniewski was 2-for-2 and Alexa Scala was 2-for-3.  

In the nightcap, Diegel added a third homer for the day as the Cavaliers won in five innings again.  Mack Taylor (2-for-2) and Kaitlyn Cooper (3-for-3) both went perfect at the plate for the hosts.

Mackie Goodwin was 2-for-2 for Marywood in game two.

The Pacers will look to bounce back to the win column when they host Cedar Crest College tomorrow at noon in a CSAC twinbill.
