No. 16 Cabrini Overpowers Pacers in Battle of Unbeated CSAC teams

Radnor, PA – Sixteenth-ranked Cabrini College broke out of a 12 minute scoreless draw with 11 consecutive goals to drop Marywood University 16-2 from the top of the Colonial States Athletic Conference men's lacrosse standings. In a battle of the two last remaining undefeated teams in conference play, the Cavaliers guaranteed themselves of home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Marywood secures a No. 2 seed in the CSAC playoffs. If Gwynedd Mercy University prevails over Neumann Tuesday, Marywood will host the Griffins in the CSAC semifinals for the second straight season.
 
The Cavaliers ended the Pacers' eight-game winning streak that dated back to their spring break trip.
 
Cabrini kept Marywood to within a goal for 49 minutes until Dylan Swope scored a man-down goal from Scott Slater with 10:32 remaining. Slater added the Pacers' only other goal, and Swope registered an assist.
 
Joe Magargal stopped 12 shots and allowed 13 goals in 52 minutes, 46 seconds.
 
Marywood mustered just 16 ground balls to the Cavaliers' 37 pickups. Skyler Swope and Cody Bachman each had three. The Pacers failed to cause a turnover.
 
Faceoffs doomed the Pacers all day long, winning a mere four of 20 chances at the X. Marywood went 0-for-4 in extra-man opportunities.

Cabrini's Mike Leyden scored two goals including the first goal to end the scoreless darw with 2:53 left in the first period. Just 18 seconds later, Sebastian Kerslake scored from Cole Campbell following a faceoff victory. Evan Downey came off the bench to score a hat trick. 
 
Marywood wraps its regular season Tuesday at home against Rosemont College at 6:00 pm. The Pacers' semifinal round will take place Saturday, April 25 at a time to be determined.
