Scranton, PA - Marywood University edged visiting Cedar Crest College 2-1 in a combined eight-hit opening game before the Falcons responded with a six-inning 11-2 win over the Pacers Saturday afternoon in Scranton. With the split, Marywood stands at 12-13 (11-5 CSAC) while Cedar Crest is 7-15 (6-8).

The two teams combined for just eight hits in the opener, with Marywood holding the 5-3 advantage.  Two of those hits came from Stephanie Bagniewski, who had a RBI double in the fourth to score Brooke Labs all the way from first.  

Alyssa Bavarro evened her record at 4-4 after striking out five over seven full innings of work.  Alexa Scala had Marywood's other RBI.

In the nightcap, the Falcons took advantage of six Marywood fielding miscues and ended the game early with the 11-2 win.  Emily Perruso took the loss after allowing three earned runs (six total) on seven hits over 2.1 innings.  Bavarro went the final 3.2, allowing one earned run (five total) on five hits.

Kathleen Rossi and Mackie Goodwin were both 2-for-3 for Marywood in the nightcap.

Marywood travels to nearby LaPlume tomorrow to take on Keystone in a doubleheader at noon.
