Pacers Fall at Cabrini, to Face Gwynedd Mercy in CSAC Playoffs

Radnor, PA – Cabrini College finished its Colonial States Athletic Conference women's lacrosse season with an undefeated record after downing Marywood University 19-3 Saturday. The Cavaliers (11-5, 9-0 CSAC) scored the game's first 11 goals.
 
Marywood (7-7, 6-3 CSAC) was out-shot by the Cavaliers by a 38-11 margin. The outcome had no bearing on the Pacers' playoffs positioning. Marywood earned the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 Gwynedd Mercy University Saturday, April 25 at a time to be determined.
 
Sam Bussinelli scored two of the three Pacer goals. Erin Healy added a goal. Natalie Burke and Stacy Griffing each garnered an assist.
 
Four players ended up four ground balls apiece. Teressa Izzo, Natalie Burke, Jennifer Newins and Stephanie Hughes each came away leading the Pacers. Entering the game second in the nation in caused turnovers and averaging 14 per game, Marywood forced just one Cavalier giveaway.
 
Izzo made her first career start, stopping 16 saves while allowing 19 goals.
 
Marywood did not score until Bussinelli put one in the net with 1:46 left in the first half. She tacked on another with 29 seconds left.
 
The Pacers host Susquehanna University Wednesday in their regular season finale.
