La Plume, PA - Marywood University qualified for the Colonial States Athletic Conference softball post-season for the eighth consecutive year as the Pacers swept host Keystone College Sunday afternoon in a doubleheader. Marywood (14-13, 12-5 CSAC) won game one 6-0 and game two 9-6 to eliminate Keystone (10-16, 8-12 CSAC) from playoff consideration.

Alyssa Bavaro threw a four-hitter in the opener to pick up the shutout win while Mariah Runco went 4-for-4 with a homer and five RBI in the nightcap for the Pacers.

With the game scoreless, Marywood took control of the opening game with a four-run fourth. Stephanie Bagniewski and Kathleen Rossi each had RBI singles to start the scoring, and after Sarah Recanati was hit by a pitch to score a run with the bases loaded Marywood got a sacrifice fly from Alexa Scala to make it 4-0.

Marywood added two more runs in the sixth on RBIs from Scala and Brooke Labs, but Bavaro needed little help from the Pacers offensively Sunday as she dominated on the mound. Bavaro faced the minimum batters through six innings of play thanks to inning ending double plays in the fifth and sixth, and only allowed four singles total in the game.

Marywood had a 5-0 lead through two innings in the nightcap before Keystone got on the board with two runs in the bottom of the third. Adding two more runs in the fourth and sixth, Marywood gave Emily Perruso a 9-3 cushion. Keystone attempted a comeback in the bottom of the seventh with three runs in the frame, but Perruso shut them down and got her fifth win of the season.

Runco's blast was a two-run homer to right in the sixth.

Heather Schultz and Mariah Runco each went 5-for-8 for the day, with Bagniewski going 4-for 7 with three RBI.

Marywood will travel to Rosemont next Friday.
