Rosemont, PA -  Brooke Labs hit her 18th double of the season, a new Marywood record, as the Pacers shut down host Rosemont College in a twinbill Friday afternoon to improve to 15-5 in league play (16-13 overall). The Pacers took game one 11-1 in six innings and game two 8-0 in five innings.  Alexa Scala had four hits for the Pacers, who got wins from Emily Perruso and Alyssa Bavaro on the mound.

Labs, who currently is ranked first in the country in doubles per game, broke the old record of 17 doubles in a single season set by Megan Haikes in 2006.

In the opener, Marywood led 4-1 going into the top of the sixth but pounded out seven runs to put the game away.  Scala, Sarah Recanati, Labs, Stephanie Bagniewski and Heather Schultz all had two hits for the Pacers in the win, while Bavaro struck out four and allowed just four hits and no earned runs on the mound.

Recanati, Bagnieski and Kathleen Rossi all had doubles while Schultz had a triple.  Mackie Goodwin hit her first collegiate homer in the fourth inning to give Marywood a 3-0 lead. Scala and Bagniewski each had two RBI.

The Pacers continued hitting early in the nightcap, breaking the game open with a five run first.  Scala and Chelsea Epler each had two hits while Epler picked up four RBI. Labs, Epler, Bagniewski and Goodwin all doubled for Marywood in game two.

Perruso struck out two and allowed just three hits in the complete-game win.

Marywood hosts league-leading Neumann University tomorrow at 1:00 pm in a key CSAC showdown between 2014 conference finalists.
