Kingston, PA - Marywood University dropped their final two regular season games to Wilkes University in non-conference softball action Sunday afternoon. Wilkes took the opener 11-2 in five and got a 5-4 walk-off win in game two.  Marywood concludes the regular season with a 16-17 overall record, and is headed to the Colonial States Athletic Conference post-season for the eighth consecutive year.

Stephanie Bagnewski's two-run double to left in the top of the third opened the scoring in the nightcap.  Three batters later, Kathleen Rossi singled up the middle to score Mariah Runco and Bagniewski and make it 4-0 in favor of the Pacers.

Wilkes (12-20) would not go away though and made a game of it in the bottom of the sixth when Brooke Limeberry hit a two-run homer to cut the Colonels' deficit in half on one swing.  Limeberry's round-tripper was her fourth of the season.

The Pacers let a golden opportunity for some insurance runs slip away when Wilkes got out of a one-out, bases loaded jam in the top of the 7th with a strikeout and line out.

The Colonels made their final at-bats count, getting runners on the corners with no outs thanks to a lead-off double and a single. Another infield single then loaded the bases as the runner at third held.

A sacrifice fly to center made it 4-3 with just one out, but a nice defensive play by the Pacers prevented the tying run and got the second out.  A single to right advanced the runners, but Jennifer Owens hit Rossi at second on the relay who promptly gunned down the runner at home to prevent the tying run.

Still, with runners on second and third and two outs, Wilkes had a chance to win the game, and completed that feat with a two-run, walk-off single up the middle from Ally Paskas.

In the opening game, Wilkes pounded out 17 hits and limited Marywood to three as the Colonels won 11-2 in five innings.  Sarah Recanati, Brooke Labs and Mackie Goodwin had Marywood's hits while Chelsea Epler had the Pacers' lone RBI.

Marywood, the defending CSAC Champions, is seeded #5 in the post-season tournament after going 15-7 in league play and will head on the road Wednesday to take on #4 Immaculata University.  Marywood swept the Mighty Macs on April 6 in Scranton after winning the opener 7-1 and the nightcap 8-7.

Winners of Wednesday's first round games will advance to the double elimination tournament at #1 Neumann starting Friday.  Live stats are available for the opening round, single elimination game between Marywood and Immaculata.
