Langhorne, PA - Chelsea Epler had a grand slam and five RBI over two games and Mackie Goodwin added five RBI as well as Marywood University won their fifth and sixth consecutive games as they swept Cairn University in softball action Tuesday afternoon.  The Pacers, who have now won 7 of 8 after starting the season 0-8, improve to 7-9 overall and 7-1 in CSAC play while the Highlanders remain winless at 0-20, 0-10 CSAC.

The Pacers took the opener 10-0 in seven full innings, and the nightcap 15-3 in five innings.  Alexa Scala was 3-for-3 with two RBI in the opener while Goodwin was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI.  Stephanie Bagniewski went 3-for-5 with two runs scored while Sarah Recanati had a triple as part of her 2-for-3 opening game.

Alyssa Bavaro evened her record on the mound at 3-3 with her second win in as many days, striking out four and allowing just four hits over seven full innings to get the complete-game win. 

In the nightcap, Epler made her second career homerun count, blasting a grand-slam in the top of the fourth inning as Marywood plated seven total in the frame to take a commanding 11-0 lead. 

Brooke Labs and Mariah Runco each had doubles for the Pacers in the nightcap, while Recanati improved to 3-3 on the mound with the win after going three innings.  Emily Perruso pitched two scoreless innings of relief.

Scala wound up getting seven hits in eight at bats over the two games. 

Marywood returns to action on Friday when they host Cedar Crest College in a conference doubleheader starting at 3:00 pm.
