Scranton, PA - Marywood University extended its winning streak to six games following a a 17-7 victory over Centenary College (N.J.) Wednesday in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's lacrosse action. The Pacers (7-3, 3-0 CSAC) outscored the Cyclones 11-1 in the first half, allowing a mere five shots. 

Freshman Rob Maini scored a season-high four goals for the Pacers in the first 23 minutes. Dylan Swope scored six points on three goals and three assists. Sitting fourth all-time in program history, Swope is five points shy of the 150-point plateau and one goal short of 50 for his career. 


Ranked third nationally in save percentage, Joe Magargal saved one of just two Cyclone shots on goals in his 30 minutes of action to collect his sixth victory of the year. Daghan Hart made two saves, and Brian White stopped three. Chris Favale also recorded a save in the second half. 

Three players each finished with three points. Cody Bachman and Brandon Terlizzi totaled a goal and two assists apiece. Sam Trill added two goals and an assist. The senior midfielder is three points of Nick Parks' '11 career record of 165. 

The freshman class dominated the ground ball game. Riley Litman won 12 of 15 (80 percent) of his faceoff opportunities and garnered a game-high six ground balls. Kyle Butera scooped five grounders, and Jake Drexl won eight faceoffs in addition to his four ground balls.

Ryan Nowell collected four ground balls and caused two turnovers. Bobby Sedlock also caused two turnovers. 

Centenary's Kenten Gottshall scored four points on two goals and two assists. Kevin Switzer made eight saves in a half's worth of work. 

Maini jump-started the scoring 2:09 into the game from a Swope pass. Swope fed Terlizzi for a goal to put the Pacers up by two at the 9:10 mark. Midway through the first, Maini put the Pacers on top 3-0. Centenary's Michael Muff's goal a minute later was overshadowed by Swope's first goal of the game to wrap the first period with a 4-1 lead. 

Maini started the second with a bang by scoring a pair of goals. He put the Pacers ahead 7-1 when he collected a ground ball off the post and dumped it into the net. Litman won a faceoff and raced down the field to score just seven seconds after Maini's fourth tally. 

Marywood finished the half with a 11-1 lead. Centenary posted a pair of goals on open-net scenarios.

Scott Slater scored his second goal of the game just nine seconds after a Dylan Swope man-up goal from Terlizzi. Skyler Swope picked up a well-contested ground ball off the faceoff and tossed downfield to an idle Slater to put the Pacers ahead by a 16-7 score at 4:46. 

Entering the week ranked 18th nationally in man-up conversions, Marywood scored on all five of its man-up chances, propelling the Pacers into the top three with a 50 percent success rate on the season. The Pacers won 20 of 28 faceoff opportunities. Marywood dominated the ground ball game to the tune of a 46-28 advantage over the Cyclones. Centenary was out-shot by a 40-23 margin. 

Marywood travels to rival Gwynedd Mercy University Saturday in a key CSAC matchup. The two teams faced each other twice last season. Riley Dobel '14 scored a game-winner with 98 seconds remaining to give the Pacers an 11-10 win to wrap up the regular season. Days later, the Pacers exploded for a 14-6 win over the Griffins in the CSAC semifinal.
