Scranton, PA - Freshman goalkeeper Aly Moyer made six saves and earned her first blank sheet in collegiate action as Marywood's women's soccer team opened the 2015 season with a 0-0 draw against visiting Wilkes University after two overtimes.  Wilkes held a commanding 23-12 lead in shots, but only managed to put six on frame, as neither team could find the game-winner.

Marywood had the run of play early, generating several good looks that sailed just high or wide in the opening 10 minutes of play.  Wilkes proved to be very dangerous on the counter and on corner kicks, narrowly missing numerous opportunities to take the lead.

Besides Moyer, the Pacers also got strong performances from Danielle Rill and Elizabeth Carlson.  Both came on to defense to replace the injured Amy Moren and Maddie Daches.  Rookies Kate Bateman, McKenzie Dailey and Maci Roos all had strong performances on defense and midfield for the Pacers.

Wilkes had a 13-4 advantage in corners, but despite having a clear size advantage in the box could not find the back of the net.  Julie Youngman, Amanda Allikmaa, Ashley Kruchinsky and Aly Barlok each had shots on goal for Marywood.

The Pacers will look for their first win of 2015 when they travel to upstate New York this weekend to take on Clarkson University (Saturday, 3:00 pm) and St. Lawrence University (Sunday, 2:00 pm) in the North Country Classic.
