Clarks Summit, PA - Marywood University blanked Summit University for the second time this season, this time for a CSAC win as the Pacers rolled the Defenders 9-0 at Birchwood Tennis Club in Clarks Summit. The Pacers (3-1, 2-0 CSAC) also blanked the Defenders (0-3, 0-1 CSAC) in a non-conference match to open the season September 1.

In doubles play, Avery McCall and Abygail Doud beat Bliss Lecea and Veronica Hernandez 8-5 in the top doubles flight.  At #2 doubles, Melanie Kobela and Shannon Spencer were 8-2 winners for the Pacers while Nicole Sinclair and Emily Zarrilli breezed to a 8-0 win at #3.

McCall would take her #1 singles match 6-2, 6-2 over Lecea and Doud would win 6-0, 6-1 over Hernandez at #2 singles.  Kobela (6-0, 6-2) and Sinclair (6-0, 6-1) won at #3 and #4 singles, respectively, while Shannon Spencer was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at fifth singles.  Devin  Zombek closed out the win for Marywood with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #6 singles.

Marywood will take part in the King's College Invitational Saturday and Sunday. There will be no team scoring for the event.
