Scranton, PA - Marywood University was shut out in a regular season game for the first time in a full calendar year. Kean University blanked the Pacers 4-0 Wednesday in nonconference men's soccer. The four-goal differential was the most for a regular season game since falling by five to University of Rochester in 2012.

Kean (6-1) scored 45 seconds into the game when Richard Zapata capitalized on a penalty kick. In the 13th minute, Sev Kherlopian bicycle-kicked a shot to the top-right corner of the post from 15 yards away to up the Cougars lead to 2-0.

Less than two minutes after the midway point, Kherlopian crossed the ball from the left side over for Vaughn Cusano to tap it into the Pacer goal. Ishmael Soria capped the Kean scoring with a free kick from 25 yards out on the right side in the 80th minute for his first goal as a Cougar.

Chidi Iloka pegged his second-consecutive shutout. He now owns a scoreless streak of over 200 minutes dating to the 62nd minute of the game against St. Joseph's of Long Island. Marywood goalkeeper Patrick Brogan made five saves.

Kean dominated the corner kick count (11-1) and outshot its hosts (23-15). Marywood falls to 1-2-2 on the year.

The Pacers will host Manhattanville College Saturday at 3:00 pm. Marywood beat the Valiants 4-2 in New York last year.
