Scranton, PA - Marywood's Megan Swiecicki scored just 36 seconds into the contest Wednesday night but Scranton scored seven unanswered goals as the Royals downed the Pacers 7-1 in non-conference women's soccer action Wednesday night at Fitzpatrick Field.

Swiecicki got in behind the Royals' back line just over thirty seconds into the contest and took a feed from Amanda Allikmaa to beat Scranton's keeper one-on-one at the 36 second mark.  The freshman's tally was the first time Marywood had scored against Scranton since the two teams began playing each other in 2011.

Marywood (1-4-1) held that lead for the next 20 minutes, but Kelly Egan knotted the game at 1-1 in the 22nd minute on an 18-yard blast from the top of the box after picking up a loose ball.

Scranton (3-2-1) then took the lead for good in the 26th minute on a goal from Carolyn Warner off a corner from Egan.  A minute later, Samantha Wargo made it 3-1 Royals with a break away.  Scranton went up 4-1 just before the half on another break away goal, this time finished by Erica Licari.

After a volley goal from five yards out just 11 minutes into the second half, Scranton put two more corner kicks in the back of the net for the final margin.  The Royals dominated the shots 36-4 and had a 16-1 advantage in shots on goal along with a 11-1 advantage in corners.

Marywood returns to action Saturday when they open up CSAC play by hosting Rosemont College at 12:00 pm.
