Volleyball Opens CSAC Slate with Loss to Knights

Scranton, PA - Marywood University began its Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball schedule with a three-set loss to Neumann University Wednesday at home. The Knights won by scores of 25-14, 25-23, 25-10. 

Marywood (0-12) was led by Danielle DeIulio's 13 assists and eight digs. Amanda Khozouri had two service aces and 10 digs. Mallorie Deschaine led the offensive attack with seven kills. Lauren Besecker blocked two shots. 

The Pacers shot minus-.03 for the match, compared to Neumann's .229 attack percentage. Both teams had mixed results from the service line. Neumann posted 10 service aces, yet committed 11 service errors. Marywood tallied just four aces but made nine service errors. 

Neumann's Rachael Hoffman made 10 kills and shot an astounding .643 for the match. Kat Wolf registered 21 assists and three aces. Both Kristine Quinn and Julia Malseed logged seven digs. 

Marywood is idle for two weeks. It travels to Summit University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
