Pacers Dominate Stats, Fall to Manhattanville 1-0

Scranton, PA - Marywood University's men's soccer team dominated nearly every offensive statitsical category but fell to visiting Manhattanville College 1-0 Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action.  The Valiants improved to 4-2-1 with the win while Marywood slipped to 1-3-2.

After a scoreless first half, an early second half goal in the 55th minute of play from Robin Schaufele off a helper from Jefferson Santos got the visitors on the board.

Despite controlling tempo and play, Marywood could not find the equalizer.  Marywood out-shot Manhattanville 27-12 on the day and had an 8-5 edge in shots on goal along with a 10-3 advantage in corners.  

Justin Sunseri made four stops for Marywood in the loss.  Willi Silbur made five saves in just over 58 minutes of action for the Valiants while Markus Schwartz made two and the team was credited with one.  

Daniel Hull had 10 shots for the Pacers but none were on goal while Danny Lopez placed three of his four on frame.  

Marywood returns to action Tuesday with a trip to Annville to take on Lebanon Valley College at 4:00 pm.
