Scranton, PA - The University of Scranton blanked Marywood University 9-0 in non-conference women's tennis action Friday afternoon.  The Pacers fall to 1-1 on the young season with the loss.

The closes doubles match was in the top flight as Scranton's Anika Pornpitaksuk and Emily Machado  downed Marywood's Avery McCall and Devon Underwood, 8-4.  Abygail Doud and Melanie Kobela fell 8-2 at #2 doubles while Nicole Sinclair and Emily Zarrilli lost 8-1 at #3.

In singles competition, Pornpitaksuk downed McCall 6-1, 6-1 at number one and Julia Frattaroli beat Doud 6-0, 6-1 at number two. Underwood fell at #3 singles to Machado 6-1, 6-2, while Kobela fell at #4 singles, 6-0, 6-4.

Scranton's Courtney Barron was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Sinclair at #5 and Kaitlin Barno closed out the win for the Royals with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Shannon Spencer at #6.

Marywood returns to the courts Saturday as the Pacers host Notre Dame of Maryland University in both school's CSAC opener and in the Gators' season opener.
