Men's Soccer Ends Drought with 3-2 Win Over Ravens

Rosemont, Pa. – Marywood University held onto an early two-goal lead en route to its first Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer victory of the season. Marywood downed Rosemont College 3-2 Saturday on the road.

The victory ends a four-game losing streak for the Pacers.

Matthew Hull scored a goal for the first time since the season opener in a three-point effort. Hull finished with a goal and an assist.

Daniel Gallagher netted his third goal of the year for the Pacers. Cody Gangware also provided an assist.

Patrick Brogan returned to the goalkeeper spot to notch a victory with three saves.

Marywood went ahead in the 20th minute on an own goal. Less than three minutes later, Hull sent a Gangware feed into the net for a quick 2-0 lead.

Rosemont's Nick Bombard evened the score with a penalty stroke in the 41st minute.

Gallagher proved to score the gamewinner in the 63rd minute off the leg of Hull.

The Ravens' Cavit Ula made it a one-goal game again from a Sean Borden pass in the 82nd minute.

Rosemont mustered one shot in the final eight minutes. Bryan Campbell sent a shot that was high.

Brogan's counterpart, Zach Bowe, also finished with three saves.

Both teams tied with 12 shots and three saves. Marywood held onto a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Marywood (3-6) travels to Neumann University Saturday in a rematch of last year's CSAC semifinal that finished with a Hull goal in the 109th minute. The past three meetings between the Knights and Pacers gone to double overtime. Dating back to 2010, seven of the past 10 meetings between the teams have went to overtime.
