Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University's women's tennis team clinched the #2 seed in the upcoming Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs with a 9-0 win over visiting Clarks Summit University Friday afternoon. The Pacers now stand at 11-2 (8-1 CSAC) on the year while the Defenders fell to 1-10 (1-8 CSAC).

CSU had to default three matches at three doubles and five and six singles, giving Marywood a 3-0 lead right away.

Avery McCall and Danielle Ogonowski extened that lead to 5-0 with a 8-1 win at #1 doubles after Leah Dinsmore and Melanie Kobela made it 4-0 with an 8-0 win at #2 doubles.

In singles action, Ogonowski, McCall and Kobela all won 6-0, 6-0 at two through four singles, respectively, while Abygail Doud held off Veronica Hernandez 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 at #1 singles.

Marywood closes the CSAC regular season tomorrow with a trip to Aston to take on Neumann University at 12:00 pm.
