Women's Tennis Stumbles at Wilkes in Regular Season Finale

Edwarsville, Pa. - Marywood University had their nine match win streak snapped as the Pacers (12-3) fell to Wilkes University in non-conference women's tennis action to close out the regular season Tuesday afternoon.  Wilkes improved to 6-0 with the win.

Wilkes took one and three doubles matches by scores of 8-1 and Madison Salmon and Taylor Hoffman partnered at two doubles to defeat Avery McCall and Danielle Ogonowski 8-2.

After a win at #1 singles by default, Wilkes took the six singles match6-0, 6-0 and the five singles match 6-0, 6-1.  Kendra Cooker knocked off Ogonowski at two-singles 6-1, 6-1 and McCall fell 6-0, 6-2 at three-singles.  Salmon was a 6-1, 6-4 winner over Kristen Lambert at four singles.

Marywood, the #2 seed in the upcoming CSAC playoffs, will take on #3 Immaculata Friday at Legacy Tennis Club in Philadelphia. The Pacers and Mighty Macs will take the courts approximately 50 minutes after semifinal #1, which features #1 Gwynedd Mercy and #4 Cabrini and begins at 9:30am.
