Aston, Pa. - Marywood University clinched at least the fourth seed in the upcoming Colonial States Athletic Conference field hockey playoffs by virtue of a thrilling 2-1 overtime win on a windy and rainy day at Neumann Saturday.  The Pacers got goals from Tori Jo Kakusian and the OT game-winnter from Gabbie Bower as they escaped the Knights, 2-1.

Marywood (10-5, 4-2 CSAC) clinched at least the #4 seed and can claim the #3 seed with a win against Keystone in their final CSAC game of the season on October 27.  The Knights fell to 9-7 (2-4 league) and can get the #4 seed if they beat Notre Dame, and Immaculata beats Cabrini and Marywood beats Keystone.

Kakusian opened the scoring for the Pacers in the 29th minute when she scored unassisted.  Neumann would have a 9-6 advantage in shots in the opening half, but Kerri Mountz kept the Knights off the board with four first half saves.

With 11:21 remaining Neumann found the equalizer as Jessica Harrell scored off a Becky Guinto penalty corner to tie the game at 1-1.

3:43 into the first overtime Bower found the game-winner, her team leading 11th goal of the year and fourth game-winner.  Pushing forward for the road win, Kakusian found Bower who put it past Caitlyn Johnson to give Marywood the thrilling 2-1 overtime win.

Neumann out-shot Marywood 18-11 on the day and had 11 shots on goal to Marywood's six.  The Knights also had 11 penalty corners to Marywood's five.  Mountz collected the win after making a game-high eight saves.  Kakusian and Sara Marshall each picked up defensive saves for the Pacers.

Before Marywood takes on Keystone the Pacers will host Kean University in non-conference action. That game is slated for a 7:00 pm start on Tuesday, October 25.
