Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University's women's soccer team clinched at least the #2 seed and a first round bye in the upcoming Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs with a dominating 5-0 win over Immaculata on Saturday.  Emily Gerbehy scored two goals and Julie Youngman collected four points on a goal and two assists as Marywood improved to 8-5-2 (8-1-1 CSAC).

The game also served as "Senior Day" for the Pacers, making Gerbehy's two-goal effort that much more special.  Prior to and after the game, Marywood recognized seniors Gerbehy, Elizabeth Carlson, Brianna Bruster and Amy Moren. Moren picked up an assist on the Pacers' last goal of the game.

5:20 into Saturday's contest Gerbehy put the Pacers up 1-0 when she settled a Megan Swiecicki cross and blasted it home from five yards out.

The score would remain 1-0 until the closing minute of the opening half as both teams battled cold weather in windy and rainy conditions.  But with :36 seconds left on the clock in the opening half, Desi Rill found Julie Youngman down the left flank and Youngman took it into the 18 on two touches before scoring from 10 yards out for an important insurance goal just before the half.

Marywood quickly made it 3-0 with Gerbehy's second tally of the game 8:52 into the second half.  Youngman sent in a in-swinging corner that Gerbehy touched in.  Youngman would find Swiecicki just 1:05 later down the right flank.  Swiecicki would take one touch into the 18 before ripping a shot to the far post to give Marywood a 4-0 lead.

In the 74th minute Aly Barlok finished a Moren cross from the left corner with a one-time rip that closed the scoring. Barlok nearly made it 6-0 in the closing moments but her header off a Gerbehy corner was saved by Allie Tracey right on the line.

For the game, Marywood outshot Immaculata 19-9 (11-3 on goal).  Marywood had seven corners to the Mighty Macs' two.  Aly Moyer made one save while April Foley made two in the final six minutes to preserve the Pacers' fifth shutout of the season.

Marywood will close out the regular season Thursday with a CSAC tilt against Neumann University at 7:00 pm.  Their final place in the CSAC standings will be determined by their results against the Knights as well as Cabrini's against Gwynedd Mercy, also being played Thursday evening (6:00 pm at Gwynedd Mercy).
