Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University clinched the top seed in the CSAC postseason women's soccer tournament with a dominating 6-0 win over visiting Neumann University and thanks to a Gwynedd Mercy University 1-0 double overtime upset of Cabrini University.

Cabrini saw their incredible 42-game CSAC regular season unbeaten streak (38-0-4) come to an end when the Griffins scored with 3:52 left in the second overtime.  That loss put both Marywood and Cabrini at 9-1-1 in the league on the year, but Marywood's +21 goal differential bested Cabrini's +16 to give the Pacers the top seed. Marywood and Cabrini tied 0-0 in the regular season, pushing the tiebreaking criteria past head-to-head competition to goal differential.

The game could not have gotten off to a better start for Marywood, as Shea Olszewski scored just 41 seconds into the contest.  Originally ruled an own goal, Olszewski's shot from the right flank was headed to the goal and knocked in at the line by a Neumann defender.  Since the ball would have gone in anyway, Olszewski was eventually credited with the tally.

Only 19 seconds later Marywood scored their second goal in the opening minute of the game as Emily Gerbehy found Megan Swiecicki in the box and Swiecicki put away her team-leading 12th of the year.

Gerbehy and Swiecicki switched rolls in the 9th minute of action as Swiecicki sent a cross in from the goal line and Gerbehy ripped a shot from the top of the box past the Knights' keeper to make it 3-0.

Four minutes later Marywood's offense kept rolling as McKenzie Dailey's shot off a Julie Youngman corner kick was saved but Swiecicki was there to put home the rebound and give the Pacers a 4-0 lead.

In the 32nd minute Desi Rill blasted home a ball served in by Amy Moren.  Rill's shot was tipped by the keeper but ended up in the upper 90 as Marywood carried a 5-0 lead into halftime.

The Pacers closed the scoring in the 86th minute.  Becca Dolgas' cross was redirected by Sam Lindquist and after the ball bounced off the top of the goalpost Natalia Colasurdo was waiting a yard off the goal line to easily head it home.

Marywood outshot the Knights 29-7 and placed 18 shots on frame to Neumann's six.  Aly Moyer recorded the team's fourth straight shutout by making four saves while April Foley made two stops in the final 22:55 to preserve the Pacers' clean sheet.

Since the 0-0 tie at Cabrini October 15, Marywood has outscored their opponents 18-0 (7-0, 5-0 and 6-0).

Marywood will host the lowest remaining seed from Monday's first round games in Wednesday's semifinal. Game time is tentatively set for 5:30pm at Marywood but must be agreed upon between the two institutions. #3 Centenary will host #6 Neumann and #4 Immaculata will host #5 Gwynedd Mercy Monday at times to be determined.
