Scranton, Pa. - Jackie VonItter and Ashley Kruchinsky tallied second half goals to help Marywood remain unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's soccer action as the Pacers defeated visiting Gwynedd Mercy University 2-1 Tuesday afternoon.  Marywood improves to 5-4-1 overall and 5-0 in the league while GMU slipped to 4-4-2 and 2-2 in the CSAC.

The game was not without drama and excitement though, as the visitors scored just 0:35 into the contest and held that lead until seven and a half minutes into the second half despite being out-shot 16-1 by the hosts in the opening frame.

Just after kickoff, Megan Petroski flicked on a throw-in to the middle of the box, that, after a failed clearance attempt by a Marywood defender, found the foot of Anna Numerato who volleyed it home from 15-yards out to put the visitors up 1-0.

Marywood dominated the rest of the opening half, but eight saves from Kailey Hopkins kept the Pacers off the board for the remainder of the stanza.

Early in the second half VonItter would provide the equalizer with her fourth goal of the year.  The rookie dove and one-timed a feed to the far post from Julie Youngman, who had dribbled the length of the field and crossed the ball in from the left flank.

Less than six minutes later Kruchinsky would find the game-winner for her third of the year.  Desi Rill sent the ball in from the right flank that Kruchinsky settled and ripped home from the top of the 18 to put Marywood up 2-1.

Marywood held a commanding 29-3 advantage in shots, including a 15-1 mark in shots on goal.  Aly Moyer got the win in goal despite not making a save.  Hopkins finished with 13 stops.  The Pacers had five corners to GMU's one.

Thus far, Marywood's 26 goals on the year have been scored by 10 different players and 15 players have registered points.  In the last two games, Marywood has gotten six goals from six different players and has eight goals from seven different players going back three games.

Marywood hosts Notre Dame of Maryland University Saturday at 1:00 pm.
